OpenAI has integrated its image generator, DALL-E 3, into its ChatGPT chatbot, *enabling users to generate images with greater nuance and detail.
This fusion of generative AI tools allows users to brainstorm ideas with the AI. For example, it can write and illustrate a children's bedtime story based on prompts.
The integration aims to overcome issues where text-to-image systems often misinterpret commands. DALL-E 3, exclusively available to paying users, is natively built on ChatGPT, allowing users to refine prompts.
OpenAI has also enhanced safety features to prevent the creation of inappropriate or hateful images, including ignoring certain words and denying requests related to public figures.

George R.R. Martin and a group of writers have decided to play their own 'Game of Suits,' suing the creators of ChatGPT for what they call "systematic theft on a mass scale." Their beef? They're convinced that OpenAI's AI program is helping itself to their copyrighted works without so much as a by-your-leave.
Joining Martin in this authorial skirmish are heavyweights like John Grisham, Jodi Picoult, and Jonathan Franzen. They're demanding that these "flagrant and harmful infringements" of their copyrights be stopped before it wreaks havoc on literary culture.
OpenAI, on the other hand, says it respects writers' rights and wants to work things out. It's like a real-life plot twist in the ever-evolving saga of AI meets artistry.

ChatGPT and similar large language models (LLMs) are turning heads in the world of science and innovation. According to Nobel Prize-winning biophysicist Michael Levitt, ChatGPT can boost anyone's intellectual prowess by 30%, acting as a conversational partner, research team, and even a code writer.
AI's potential in research has intrigued scientists like Martin Chalfie, who see it as a valuable tool, offering fresh perspectives. However, not all Nobel laureates are convinced, with concerns about transparency and data sources.
Still, AI's role in groundbreaking research is undeniable, from decoding the SARS-CoV-2 genome to revolutionizing health monitoring using wearable tech. The consensus is that AI, especially LLMs, is a game-changer, ushering in an exciting era for researchers.
