OpenAI, the creator of AI chatbot ChatGPT, is projected to achieve $1B in revenues within the next year. Backed by Microsoft, the company's monthly revenues already exceed $80 million. This substantial income is driven by its AI technologies, notably the ChatGPT tool and its API.

Although the company reported $28 million in revenues for 2022, the development phase of ChatGPT and the GPT-4 model led to a $540 million loss.

ChatGPT became publicly available in late 2022, garnering around 1-2 million subscribers for the paid version by March. OpenAI recently unveiled ChatGPT Enterprise, tailored for businesses and adopted by a significant portion of Fortune 500 companies.

The AI sector's growth continues to attract attention, prompting discussions among lawmakers.

OpenAI wants teachers to use ChatGPT

OpenAI the creator of ChatGPT has released a guide for teachers to help utilise the tool for learning in the classroom. They submitted a few stories to showcase how ChatGPT is empowering learning.

Enhancing Communication Skills:

Dr. Helen Crompton from Old Dominion University suggests using ChatGPT as a tool for role-playing challenging conversations. By simulating interactions with personas like debate partners, recruiters, or bosses, students gain valuable insights, improve their communication skills, and develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

Enhancing Learning Materials:

Professors like Fran Bellas suggest using ChatGPT to craft quizzes, exams, and lesson plans by sharing the curriculum with the AI. This generates fresh ideas, incorporating modern and culturally relevant examples while ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.

Empowering Non-English Speakers:

Dr. Anthony Kaziboni advises non-English speakers to employ ChatGPT for translation and language improvement, recognizing that a strong grasp of English can significantly impact academic success.

Fostering Critical Thinking:

Geetha Venugopal, a computer science teacher, highlights the importance of teaching students to critically assess ChatGPT's answers. Encouraging original critical thinking and problem-solving skills remains paramount in an AI-driven educational landscape.
