In what has been a crazy 72 hours for ChatGPTs creator OpenAI, it has announced an agreement "in principle" for Sam Altman to return as CEO after being previously ousted.

This decision follows a potential staff mutiny, with many employees threatening to quit if Altman and company president Greg Brockman were not reinstated.

Microsoft, OpenAI's largest investor, had also hired Altman and Brockman for a new AI research project.

The new board of directors, operating on a not-for-profit basis, will include notable figures like Larry Summers and Bret Taylor.

Altman expressed his love for OpenAI and Microsoft's support and is looking forward to returning to OpenAI. The reason behind Altman's previous sacking remains unclear.

In short, Sam Altman is set to return as CEO of OpenAI following a period of uncertainty and a potential staff exodus.

OpenAI's former President and Chairman, Greg Brockman, announced the release of ChatGPT Voice for all users.

This feature allows users to engage in spoken conversations with ChatGPT, and it offers a variety of voices to choose from.

Despite recent leadership changes and staff threats to quit, OpenAI has rolled out this feature (previously a limited feature for plus users) enhancing the user experience. Users can select from five voices: Juniper, Sky, Breeze, Ember, and Cove, all of which sound remarkably human-like.

ChatGPT Voice is free to use and leverages OpenAI's voice technology, Whisper, which analyzes real human voices to generate lifelike conversational responses.

This feature enhances the user experience by providing a natural and conversational interface.

Nvidia, the Silicon Valley chip giant, has reported soaring revenue and profits in the latest quarter, driven by the growing demand for chips to power artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

The company's CEO, Jensen Huang, noted that the strong growth reflects the industry's shift towards accelerated computing and generative AI.

Revenue from chips tailored for data centers hit a record high, reaching $14.5 billion. However, Nvidia expects a decline in sales to certain markets due to new US export control regulations, but remains confident that growth in other regions will offset these losses.

Nvidia's technology, including the powerful H100 chip, plays a critical role in AI applications like ChatGPT, contributing to the recent boom that has garnered global attention.
