Snapchat is bringing some AI magic to its lenses. At Lens Fest, their annual developer event, the company unveiled a beta version of Lens Studio that can craft filters using ChatGPT. For example, you can ask a question like, "How far away is Neptune?" and the lens will deliver an answer within seconds. This opens up possibilities for creating quizzes and randomizers.

But that's not all. Snap also revealed that its AI lenses are powered by ChatGPT, and they're planning to introduce a 3D face mask generator for creating AI-powered face lenses. Plus, they're rolling out tools that allow multiple people to collaborate on projects simultaneously.

AI-powered creations are becoming a trend across various platforms, with YouTube, Meta, and TikTok all incorporating generative AI into their features. It's clear that AI-generated content is on the rise, and Snap is ensuring it stays ahead in the game.

Microsoft, the tech giant that invests billions in OpenAI, temporarily banned its employees from using OpenAI's ChatGPT, citing security and data concerns. The move raised eyebrows as Microsoft has a significant stake in OpenAI, but the company stated that ChatGPT is considered an external third-party service, emphasizing the need for caution.

In a somewhat embarrassing twist, Microsoft initially included design software Canva in its ban, but later reversed the decision, restoring access to ChatGPT. The company clarified that this temporary blockage was the result of an error during a test of systems for large language models. Oops!

It's not uncommon for large corporations to restrict ChatGPT usage to prevent sharing confidential data. After all, ChatGPT has over 100 million users and can compose human-like responses to chat messages. Microsoft recommended its own Bing Chat tool as an alternative, which also relies on OpenAI's AI models.

In the world of tech, even giants like Microsoft can occasionally trip over their own wires, as this brief ChatGPT ban hilariously demonstrates.

OpenAI suggested that the significant outages experienced on November 8th, which affected users across ChatGPT and the application programming interface (API), were possibly caused by a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack.

A group calling itself Anonymous Sudan claimed responsibility for the attack, alleging that ChatGPT displayed a bias towards Israel and against Palestine. OpenAI has not confirmed this attribution.

Anonymous Sudan is known for conducting such attacks against perceived enemies and accused OpenAI of cooperating with Israel, claiming that AI is being used for weapon development and by intelligence agencies like Mossad. The group stated that it will target any American company and criticized Israel's use of AI in the context of the Palestinian situation.

It's important to note that there are ongoing investigations, and this information is based on the claims made by Anonymous Sudan. OpenAI is yet to provide a detailed statement regarding the incident.
