Japanese conglomerate SoftBank is looking for investment opportunities in the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, particularly in OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT.
After the successful stock market debut of its subsidiary, Arm Holdings-the UK based Chip manufacturer, SoftBank is considering investing billions of dollars in AI. The company has already collaborated with OpenAI in Japan, allowing local firms to develop intelligent chatbots.

The CMA's CEO, Sarah Cardell, emphasized the potential for AI to boost productivity and simplify daily tasks but also stressed the need for these principles to guide the responsible development and use of foundational AI models, safeguarding competition and consumer interests.
